Nestlé, York

Nestlé is a Swiss multinational food and beverage company with headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland. It is the largest food company in the world measured by revenues. It acquired Rowntree Mackintosh Ltd. in 1988. Since 1988 the company has had a plant in York on the site of the original Rowntree factory on Haxby Road where it continues to manufacture world-wide brands like Kitkat, and a laboratory for new product development. It is the largest employer in York.
